It’s a little quieter here now. Most of the visitors are gone for now. The trees are empty of leaves. And at last we have the exquisite “winter views.”
A neighbor’s pond glistens in the winter sun - a pond I can’t see in spring, summer or autumn.
A slight walk down the drive and the lakes of Connestee Falls suddenly appear to my eyes delight - shielded by leaves all other seasons of the year.
A walk out onto the veranda and the Blue Ridge Mountains majestically stand at attention waiting for my eyes to enjoy their dark blue beauty.
Winter opens up to sights no other season allows - the little houses tucked in the hills - on a drive down Scenic 276 into Brevard. It’s enjoyably beautiful - to see what is usually unseen.
Come take a drive into our mountains and see what I see. Shop the galleries at a gentler pace - the little shops that dot the mountains. Wonderful restaurants with easy winter seating and great service. B & B’s with new vistas to explore, trails, the waterfalls. All are so delightful and a little more special in the quieter times of winter.
It won’t take very long at all before the leaves are back on the trees encircling my world as a huge privacy fence against the world outside, but for now, I’ll enjoy the “winter views.”
Yep, you ought to take the drive to our mountains and see what I can see.
