Scenic 276  is an incredible corridor on along Hwy 276 - Our emphasis is on the Brevard, Cedar Mountain, Transylvania County, NORTH CAROLINA area with a little bit of a foray into the mountains of South Carolina.  Starting in Downtown Brevard -  in about a 3-block area - you will find an amazing collection of fine arts and crafts, many choices of great foods, unique gift shops, antiques, restored hotel, beautiful inns and b&b’s — and — that’s only DOWNTOWN, wait till you go South on Hwy 276 along what is also known as “Potter’s Row” — you’ll be captivated by the pottery, the artistry, the blacksmithing, adorable gift shops, awesome fused glass, folk art, a restaurant or so to fill you up, campgrounds, cabins, B&B’s; Waterfalls! Hiking - Biking - Bring your horse along too —  all in Dupont State Park - more waterfalls (They do, after all, call this the ‘land of waterfalls’!  All this can be found on or along the little fingers that shoot off Hwy 276 - Oh there’s so much more - I haven’t even told you about the other State Forest, waterfalls, and hiking that are still on Hwy 276, just a few miles more just across the State line into South Carolina - Cesar’s Head State Park.

1. Drew Deane Gallery - Housed in the original 1926 Brevard Fire Station, this newly renovated contemporary gallery predominantly features the work of gallery owner, Drew Deane.  Enter beneath a glowing neon sign, a testament to the artist’s passion for this disappearing use of light and signage.  Her fascination with the interchanging dance of artificial and natural light embraced by these vanishing signs is a consistent theme throughout her luminous paintings.  http://www.drewdeanegallery.com   828-877-5272.

2. 3. 4. Bluewood Gallery - Bluewood Gallery specializes in fine art photography.  There’s also a wide selection of oils, watercolors, mixed media, stained glass, art glass, pottery and fine woodworking.  The Gallery offers photo restoration and custom framing, all in a comfortable and inviting space one block off Main Street in Downtown Brevard. 828-883-4142.

5. Red Wolf Gallery - Offering the works of local, national and international artists, Red Wolf Gallery provides a stunning range of sculpture, paintings, prints, jewlery and pottery in a warm and inviting setting. 828-862-8620.

6. #7 Arts - A fine arts and crafts cooperative representing a variety of media that showcases Transylvania County’s creative residents and acknowledges the strong cultural heritage of Western North Carolina.  Number 7 Arts is an outreach program of the Transylvania Country Arts Council. 828-883-2294.

7.  Gallery On Main - Come browse in one of WNC’s largest art galleries.  Founded in 1992, Gallery on Main specializes in limited edition prints, original art, rustic furniture, and pottery.  We offer a large selection of local art, along with many gift items.  We are located at 36 East Main St.   828-885-7299.

Now as you start heading away from Downtown on Hwy 276 South, here are some of the delightful places you will find along the way, a scant mile or so out of town you’ll first come to -
